This article analyzes the ontological nature of Islamic education practices at MA Jam’iyyah Islamiyyah, Pondok Aren, South Tangerang. Ontology is positioned as the foundation that organizes the relationship between Allah, nature, and humanity within the framework of Tawhid, and directs the goals, curriculum, pedagogy, and school culture. Through a library study of recent literature (2016–2025) and a reading of institutional documents, this study shows that affirming the ontological dimension has implications for the integration of knowledge, the transformation of pedagogy from dogma to dialogue, and the internalization of religious moderation. A reconstruction of Qur’anic ontology (khalq–amr) is proposed to enhance the coherence between the text and modern science, while a rereading of al-Ghazali’s ideas emphasizes the integration of revelation, reason, and intuition in learning. Practically, strengthening aqidah through the naqlī, ʿaqlī, and ʿirfānī pathways is expected to shape students’ intellectual immunity against materialism and the fragmentation of knowledge. This study provides implementable guidelines for teachers and madrasah leaders to organize comprehensive (religious-competent) learning that is both relevant to contemporary challenges.
