BERKACA PADA AL-QURAN: REFLEKSI EMPATI TERHADAP PENYANDANG DISABILITAS DALAM TAFSIR AL-MISHBAH

Abstract

This research aims to explain the term disabled people in the interpretation of al-Mishbah as an effort to change the negative stigma towards people with disabilities. This research uses the observation method in the secondary data collection process, by making direct visits to several people with disabilities who live in the Nurul Qolbi Tahfidz Blind House in the Priuk, Kuningan and Garut areas to increase the validity of the data in this research. This research also uses a thematic method (maudlȗ'i), namely trying to find verses from the Koran in accordance with the theme of this research, namely verses on disability. Then analyze and discuss these verses through explanations from tafsir books and various other sources. The tool used by the author to interpret, interpret and process is the theory of empathy which is a solution to discrimination for people with disabilities. The research results show that people with disabilities are individuals who have different characteristics from normal individuals, both physically and mentally, and require special services. In the Al-Quran, there are terms related to people with disabilities such as a'ma/umyun (blind), akmah (blind from birth), bukmun (speech impaired), shummun (deaf), and a'raj (physically disabled). It can be understood in Tafsir Al-Misbah that mocking, making fun of, and calling people with disabilities unpleasant names, either openly or with gestures, can turn back on the mocker or mocker himself. Discrimination against them still often occurs, including in society, employment and education. It is necessary to increase public empathy towards people with disabilities to change the negative stigma into a positive one. In this way, individuals can have a positive attitude, displaying helpful behavior, tolerance, love, friendship and other good attitudes. Society needs to realize that having high empathy will influence positive attitudes and behavior towards people with disabilities, so that they can be more accepted and respected in society.
